Eddy DeWayne Williams 1964 – 2021

Eddy DeWayne Williams, 56, of Byhalia, MS passed away January 22, 2021, at Methodist Hospital in Olive Branch, MS following a lengthy battle with pneumonia and respiratory failure. There will be a visitation Thursday, January 28, 2021, from Noon to 2:00 pm at the Holly Springs Funeral Home, Holly Springs, MS, and a graveside service will follow at 3:00 pm at Magnolia Cemetery in Collierville, TN.
Eddy was born in Memphis, TN, on April 14, 1964, to Bobby Wayne Williams and Catherine Marie (Hoskins) Williams. Eddy was an OTR Truck Driver and was gifted with an intelligent, mechanical mind. He is most known and loved for his kind and gentle soul. He touched many lives while on this earth from the abundance of generosity that he showed towards others. Eddy would selflessly give anyone the shirt off his back and or a warm place to sleep. He enjoyed fishing, watching the sunrise, great music infused with a strong story (His favorite was George Strait), but most of all, Eddy loved being surrounded by friends and family. He had no shortage of either as he never met a stranger. All who knew him deeply adored him. Eddy professed his faith in Jesus Christ and had peace as he entered into eternity.
His generous spirit will live on through his only child, Jessica Renee Garner (Tyler) and his granddaughter, Sayler Raine Garner. Eddy also leaves behind his stepdad Shelby Joe Mauney, Sr of Byhalia, MS, his two sisters, Angela Youngblood Hawkins (Joe) of Dunlap, IL. Amanda Mauney Johnson (Michael) of Collierville, TN, and his brother, Shelby Joe “Joey” Mauney, Jr of Byhalia, MS. He also leaves several aunts and uncles to cherish his memory: Janice Devore of Byhalia, MS, JoAnn Johnson of Collierville, TN, Lori Brannon of Olive Branch, MS, Ann Goodwin of Rossville TN, Nancy Hoskins of Memphis, TN, Daniel Hoskins of Birmingham, AL, Johnny Hoskins of Olive Branch, MS, Oscar Hoskins of Bolivar, TN, Judy Parker of Memphis, TN, Sheila H. Scott of Memphis, TN, Betty Hoskins of Memphis, TN, Alma Hoskins of Memphis, TN, Karen H. Rogers of Memphis, TN; as well as nine nieces and nephews: Alicia Hawkins Hanly, Kayla Hawkins Lehman, Benjamin Matthew Hawkins, Josiah Cecil Hawkins, Tripp (Mauney) Dunn, Pierce (Mauney) Dunn, Chevy Joe Manning Medley (Mauney), Tanna Renea Johnson and Kailyn Re’Ann Johnson, and one great-niece, Cosette Elyse Hanly, and one great-nephew Shiloh Rainn Hawkins.
Eddy was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Wayne Williams of Charleston, SC, his mother, Catherine “Marie” Hoskins of Collierville, TN, maternal grandfather Enlow Hoskins, maternal grandmother Ruby “Catherine” Dolan, step-grandfather Orbie Dolan, paternal grandfather Lester Edward Williams, paternal grandmother Sallie Mae (Donaldson) Lipford, two uncles, William Hoskins and Thomas Hoskins, and one nephew, Joseph Brady Hawkins.
May we honor Eddy in our hearts and carry on his spirit on this earth by showing kindness and generosity daily.
