Collierville residents take home multiple medals in the Tennessee Senior Olympics

Four senior residents from Collierville won big at the Tennessee Senior Olympics in Franklin, Tennessee the week of June 23-27.

Carol Strickland, Cindi Peckham, Billy Peak and Jim Farrar are regulars at the Linda Kerley Senior Center at 175 W. Poplar in Collierville. They competed in over ten events between the four of them, and competed in some events as doubles teams.  

Carol Strickland won gold medals in badminton, cornhole, javelin, discus, and triple jump. She won silver medals in shuffleboard, shot put, and long jump. She won the bronze in table tennis.

 Cindi Peckham won gold medals in shot put, long jump, high jump and the 100m x 4 relay. She won silver medals in badminton, cornhole, table tennis, javelin, discus and triple jump.

Billy Peak won the silver in cornhole, and the bronze in shuffleboard.

The foursome made out in the doubles competitions as well! Carol and Cindi nabbed the gold in badminton, shuffleboard and table tennis. They won the silver in cornhole. In cornhole mixed doubles, Carol and Billy won the silver, while Cindi and Jim won the bronze. Billy and Jim won the silver in cornhole doubles and shuffleboard doubles.
