Three Lady Saints sign Letters of Intent

Briarcrest volleyball players Emma Perkins, Loren Robertson and Aziah Buckner signed National Letters of Intent last week to play collegiate volleyball next fall.

Perkins (CENTER) is a three-time All-Region player (2017, 2018 and 2019) who also played on the first team All-Metro (2018 and 2019). She also was named All-State in 2018 and 2019. In 2018, she was a finalist for Player of the Year.

In 2019, she was selected as a member of the Under Armor preseason All-American team. Perkins has been a member of the State Championship teams in 2016, 2018 and 2019 and on the State Runner-up team in 2017.

She is a member of the St. Jude Volunteer Club, Union Mission Feed the Hungry Outreach and a Key Club member. She will be playing volleyball at University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Robertson (RIGHT) started for the varsity squad in 2018 and 2019. She helped lead the Saints to back-to-back TSSAA Division II-AA State Championships.

In her two seasons at Briarcrest, she played in 227 sets and handed out 2,588 assists. She also posted 101 service aces, 530 digs and 137 kills.

Robertson’s 2019 honors include: TSSAA Division II-AA state tournament MVP and MaxPreps.com preseason All-America Team. Her overall honors include: American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Phemon List all four years.

Two-time nominee (2018, 2019) for the Tennessee Gatorade State Player of the Year. She was also named as the AVCA National Player of the Week once in 2018.

She earned the Tennessee Player of the Week honors twice in both 2018 and 2019.

Robertson played club volleyball with both Infinity and Memphis Juniors. She helped lead the Infinity team to a fifth-place finish at the 2018 AAU Nationals.

Buckner (LEFT) signed a Letter of Intent to continue her volleyball career at San Diego State University this past week. Aziah has received many honors throughout her high school career.

She was named to the 2019 Preseason All-American team.

She was an integral member of the State Champion team in 2018-19 and 2019-2020 team. She finished her senior year with 366 kills, 32 kills per set, 50 blocks and 232 digs.

Buckner plans on majoring in Biology and would like to pursue a career in Anesthesiology.
