The Collierville Parks and Recreation Department has scheduled two family oriented events for the new year.

Jan. 17 will be a night of fun for area mom’s and their son’s during the Mother-Son Bowling competition at FunquestBowlingCenter in Collierville.

The Department is presenting the event for $30 a team and $15 for each additional son. The evening includes pizza and bowling and is set for 5:30-8 p.m.

Check in, bowling shoe pick-up and lane assignment will be from 5:30-6 p.m., followed by bowling and pizza 6-8 p.m.

The second event will be hosted on Feb. 7.

The H.W. Cox Jr gymnasium at the ColliervilleCommunity Center will be the site of an event exclusively for fathers and daughters.

The Father-Daughter Dinner Dance includes dinner at 6:30 p.m. After dinner, a DJ will play music for dad’s and their “princesses” to dance the night away. Dance lessons will also be offered.

The evening concludes by 9:30 p.m.

Cost of the dinner/dance is $45 for each pair and each additional daughter is $15.

Deadline for registration is Jan. 24. Go to colliervilleparks.org for details and registration form or call 457-2770.

Photographs will also be available at the dance, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. for an additional cost of (cash or check only) $15 for two 5-by-7 photos, two 4-by-6 and four wallet size photos.

H.W. Cox Jr. Gym is located within the ColliervilleCommunity Center, 440 W. Powell Road.
