Late interception lifts Dragons past Ridgeway | Collierville Independent

Categorized |Sports

The Collierville Dragons won a close 29-28 contest against Ridgeway Friday night at home. Down 28-23 in the fourth quarter, Collierville used an 80-yard interception return from Jonquall Carrothers to take a one point lead for the win. The Dragons were knocked on their heals early by the 3-4 Roadrunners when Ridgeway scored the first 14 points of the game. However, Collierville answered with a 13-point second quarter that saw two Corbin Peeper field goals and a 59-yard touchdown pass from junior quarterback Alex Hicks to Caleb Williams. Both teams traded licks in the second half before the Carrothers pick-six. The 6-1 Dragons handed Ridgeway their first district loss of the season. They will play at 1-6 Munford this Friday.
