James L. “Slick” Scott, age 73, passed away suddenly at home on Wednesday, June 24th. James was born to Henry L.C. Scott and Mary Edna Sanders Scott on May 8, 1947 in Brownfield, MS, and lived his childhood and most of his adulthood in TN. He graduated Collierville High School in Collierville, TN, and was a longtime resident of Collierville. James married Linda M. McGregor in 1970. He relocated to Fort Myers Beach, FL after the passing of his wife Linda and lived there until his passing.
James worked in the automotive industry and did body work. James was predeceased in death by father, Henry L.C. Scott; mother, Mary Edna Scott; brother, Wayne Scott; nephew, Travis Scott; wife, Linda Scott. He is survived by two sons, Tommy Scott (Kim) and Aaron Scott; brothers, Joe Scott (Debbie), Tom Scott (Katey), Jim Scott (Bonnie); partner Margaret Mountz, and numerous nieces and nephews. James was always smiling, never held a grudge, and loved to laugh. He was beloved by many friends and family. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and traveling when he could, meeting people along the path of life.
As per James’ wishes no service will be held. Private memorial to be held at a later date in Tennessee at one of James’ favorite camping spots on a beautiful river.
