Callicott, Sanderlin, Roubidoux sign with schools | Collierville Independent

A signing ceremony was held for three Collierville High School baseball players last week in the CHS Library.

Dragon middle infielder and pitcher Peyton Sanderlin will be staying close to home and playing baseball at Christian Brothers University in Memphis. Sanderlin is second on the team in hitting (.355) and is the team leader in hits (37) and stolen bases (19).

The senior right-hander is 4-4 with a phenomenal 0.99 ERA. He leads the pitching staff in strikeouts (64) in 56.2 innings of work.

Corner outfielder Nic Roubidoux will continue his education and baseball career at Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield, Ill. Roubidoux has been a key contributor to the recent success of the Dragons, including two home runs in the Soddy Daisy Trojan Tournament.

On the year, Roubidoux is hitting .275 with 18 runs scored and 10 stolen bases. He will also be given an opportunity to pitch for the Loggers. The senior has 13 strikeouts in 9.2 innings pitched.

Dillon Callicott has made Lyon College in Batesville, Ark. his choice to play at the next level. The senior catcher is known for his defense abilities and taken pride in handling the Dragon pitching staff.

He also has been an offensive boost for the Dragons in 2013. Callicott is hitting a solid .351 with 20 hits and 9 RBIs. All three signees have been selected to play in the State Farm Shelby County High School All-Star Game on May 28 at USA Stadium.

Collierville High School Head Coach Jeff Hopkins has moved on 57 players to college baseball since taking over the Dragon program in 2003.
