St. Benedict at Auburndale Principal Sondra Morris and Athletic Director Caleb Marcum have announced the naming of Mary-Kate Cooke as new Head Girls Soccer Coach.

Cooke is a 2010 graduate of St. Benedict, where she served as Captain of the Lady Eagles Soccer team her senior year and was named All-Metro both her junior and senior years.

During her school’s off-season she played for the Lobos program, serving as captain for five years, helping them reach the finals from 2006-09.

She continued her soccer career with the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs. In addition to being a four-year starter, Mary-Kate was an All-Tournament Gulf South Conference Academic Team Member and helped lead the Lady Bucs to the conference finals in 2014.

She has coaching experience with the Lady Lobos Soccer Organization. She has also worked in summer camps with the Lobos Rush Competitive Camp and as a head coach for the Soccer Ole Camp.

Marcum said, “We are happy to welcome Mary-Kate back home and we’re excited about the future of our soccer program. Coach Cooke joins Coach Nick Dressman, Head Boys Coach and Director of Soccer at SBA.”
