A senior housing complex with more than 100 units is being planned on the southwest corner of Harris Street and Sycamore Road.
The Collierville Community Housing Development Organization is requesting that 6.2 acres be rezoned in an effort to build Heritage Oaks Senior Living.
The Board of Mayor and Aldermen will discuss the rezoning at its Sept. 14 semimonthly meeting.
If the proposed senior housing application is approved, the site can’t be used for any other purpose.
The Planning Commission recommended the request for rezoning in June.
The development will contain 103 “revenue apartments consisting of low income housing tax credit restrict units and unrestricted market rate units.”
“The proposed development will satisfy a portion of the continued demand for affordable units,” wrote Don Singleton, project planner.
The units will be around $960 for one bedroom and $1,125 for two rooms. The 3-story brick building will be 37 feet tall.
The site must first be rezoned from “general commercial” to “medical professional office.”

The town’s Planning Commission is slated to discuss the final subdivision plat for 36 residential lots on 22 acres on the south side of Shelton Road, just west of Collierville-Arlington Road.
This is the second phase of the Oak Hill subdivision.
Phase three will include 34 lots. When completed, the subdivision will have 107 total lots.
