MARGIE CRAIG NELSON

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Margie Craig (Everett) Nelson, who departed peacefully on March 10, 2024, at the age of 86. Craig was born on January 28, 1938, in Memphis, TN, and she spent her formative years in her beloved hometown of Collierville. Her journey on this earth touched countless lives with her warmth, kindness, and never-ending ability to make others smile and laugh.

Craig shared 67 beautiful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Brian Nelson. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Craig was the loving mother of four children: Russ, Randy, Ronnie, and Rikki. She poured her heart into raising her children, leaving an indelible mark on their lives. Craig’s legacy extends beyond her immediate family, as she was a beloved grandmother to 14 grandchildren and great-grandmother to 13 great-grandchildren.

Craig’s passion for music led her to teach piano for many years, sharing her talent and love for music with numerous students. Later in her life, Craig pursued a career as a court reporter, where she utilized to the fullest her keen attention to detail. Her commitment to excellence was evident in everything she did. In addition to her work as a court reporter, Craig found fulfillment in teaching court reporting, passing on her knowledge and expertise to the next generation of professionals. She left a lasting impact on all those she taught and mentored.

Brian and Craig had a passion for traveling the world, and throughout their travels Craig never met a stranger. She will be remembered fondly for her gentle yet feisty spirit, her boundless love, and her ability to bring joy and laughter to so many. She will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

In honoring Craig’s memory, let us celebrate the life she lived and the love she shared with all who knew her. Though she may no longer be with us in body, her spirit will forever remain and illuminate our paths with memories of her smile and laughter.

Craig’s life will be celebrated at an open house where family and friends are welcome to stop by her home to honor her memory at 4371 Spar Drive in Knoxville, on April 6, 2024, between 12:00p.m. and 6:00p.m. May she rest in peace, knowing that she was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
