Cecil Wayne Reddit • 1951 – 2024

Cecil Wayne Reddit was born on September 29, 1951 to Ted Wilson Redditt and Martha Alleen Baker Redditt in Memphis, TN. Cecil received his formal education through Cordova Elementary School and Germantown High School where he excelled in his studies.

Cecil was employed by Alpha Resins part time starting in October 1982 and full time May 4, 1983 later becoming the company AOC (Alpha Owens Corning) in Piperton, TN ) where he served dutifully as a Sr. Project Engineer being responsible for major project at many of their locations. He was Fire Chief of AOC especially known for imparting his knowledge and skills in helping employees better understanding fire apparatus and other equipment. He worked thirty three years before retiring in 2016. He was Director of Emergency Management in Piperton and Deputy Director of Emergency Management in Fayette County. He was also very active with many Tennessee fire service departments and organizations. He raised over sixty thousand dollars for Wounded Warriors and several thousand dollars for the Tennessee State Veterans Home being built in Arlington, TN. In 2022 he was recognized by the TN Fire Fighters Association for an individual who has given of himself for the betterment of the Fire Service in TN. In his leisure, he enjoyed riding his Harley spending time at his place in Heber Springs. He also rode many nights as an EMT with his special friend, Tammy volunteering for Fayette County Ambulance Services. He also work diligently to have as many towns in the State of TN post “Look Twice Save A life” signs hoping this would help  save motorcycle riders lives. 

Cecil Wayne Redditt was truly blessed. He was born on September 29, 1951 and departed his life on April 8, 2024. He was preceded in death by his father Ted Wilson Redditt and loving mother Martha Alleen Baker Redditt and beloved sister Joyce Ray Redditt. 

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of thirty nine years Brenda Sullivan Redditt of Collierville, TN; two step children Danette Ilene Sullivan, Esq. (husband Jeffery Stone) of Sri Lanka; Dr. Clyde Dale Sullivan II (wife Anne Sullivan) three beautiful grandchildren Gabriel, Gwendoline, and Cedric of Salt Lake City, Utah; Estranged adopted son Clinton Wayne Redditt of Memphis TN. along with a host of cousins and other loving relatives and friends. 

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all those who have supported us during Cecil’s sickness and especially the blood donors.

Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 5066 beginning at 2:00 p.m.
