Betty K. Word Reed (87) of Noblesville, IN departed this world on March 10, 2024.
She was born to James W. Word and Ida May Barber. She graduated from Phillips University in Enid, OK with a BA in Christian Education and Scriptures in 1959. She is preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Rev. William R. Reed. She is survived by her four sons: Brooks (Athena) of Noblesville, IN; Ben (Mary) of Panama City Beach, FL; Bobby (Julie) of Clarksville, TN; and BJ (Meili) of Lexington, KY. She was so proud of her sons and of her 4 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Jamey Lou Faddah of Germantown, TN. She was active in all of the Christian (Disciples of Christ) Churches that she and her husband served. Most recently she served as interim choir director and a faithful member at 1st Christian Church in Noblesville, IN. She organized and coordinated Meals On Wheels in Clarksville, TN and volunteered for Meals On Wheels in Noblesville, IN until the time of her death. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1st Christian Church, 16377 Herriman Blvd, Noblesville, IN 46060 on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at 11 am. Visitation will be from 10 am until the time of service.
