Collierville High School senior Heffernan presented JAC Scholarship of Merit

Junior Auxiliary of Collierville

Junior Auxiliary of Collierville (JAC) is proud to present this year’s JAC Scholarship of Merit to Collierville High School senior Ms. Celia Heffernan. Celia is a very active member at St. Patrick Presbyterian Church, as well as a soccer coach for young girls ages 8-10 and a member of several organizations through the high school. Celia plans to attend the University of Tennessee at Knoxville to study Speech Pathology and minor in Sign Language. Celia states she can do many things for the future generations with the education that she will receive at UTK, and being awarded the scholarship is a blessing.

JAC also awarded a $500 honorarium scholarship to graduating senior Shea Richardson. Shea is the daughter of former JAC president and Lifetime member Leslie Richardson. Shea plans to attend the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and major in Environmental Science in hopes of developing and experimenting with life-saving and pain-relieving medicines. 

Junior Auxiliary of Collierville presents their Scholarship of Merit every year to a deserving female Collierville High School graduating senior. Applicants must provide a 500-word essay, letters of recommendation, and high school transcripts. The winner of the scholarship is determined through a committee reviewal of each application as well as GPA, student involvement, and aspirations of a career working with children. A $2,500 scholarship is awarded to one female graduating senior, and a $500 honorarium scholarship is available to a child of a former JAC member in good standing with the organization.
