Collierville’s Tyler signs Letter of Intent | Collierville Independent

Briarcrest senior Brandon Tyler will be catching for the Johnson University Royals next fall. Tyler has signed with the ability to be a two-way player, capable of being a catcher and play first base. “I’m absolutely thrilled that Brandon has decided to join our program,” said Head Baseball Coach Ben Fair. “He made a campus visit this fall and I was immediately impressed with him. He asked several great questions, he carries himself well, and his parents, Mickey and Debbie are wonderful people. I’m confident he’ll be able to contribute right away. He has great size as a catcher with good pop time and he’s got a good bat. Most importantly, he’s a high character young man, and the type of guy we want in our program.” While attending Johnson, Tyler plans to study Business Administration. “I’m excited to be able to further my education, and honor God on and off the field. I’m also excited to be able to join a program that Coach Fair stresses, One God – One Family – One Goal,” he said. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mickey Tyler of Collierville. His sister, Regan, graduated from Briarcrest and attends University of Mississippi.
