Britton named Employee of Year | Collierville Independent

Collierville Library Director Deanna Britton has been named Library Systems and Services LLC Employee of the Year.

The award was presented to Britton early in July at the American Library Association annual Conference in Chicago. LSSI company founders Frank and Judy Pezzanite personally presented the award.

The Town of Collierville contracts with LSSI for the management and staffing of the Collierville Burch Library and Britton has been the director at the Collierville Burch Library since January 2005.

Since 1981, LSSI has been partnering with communities throughout the United States to provide more efficient ways to provide library outsourcing.

“While I can’t say I’m particularly surprised by her receiving this award, I can say that she certainly does deserve it,” said Josh Suddath, assistant to the Town Administrator. “Deanna works tremendously hard to make sure that our library has the services and programs our residents expect. She is someone who is never satisfied with the status quo. She is an employee who gives 100 percent of herself to this community.

“I can only hope the town’s residents appreciate the time, thought and boundless energy she puts into making the library such a wonderful place,” he continued. “I know I certainly do.”

With more than 122,000 items in inventory and growing, the Collierville Burch Library has become the information and learning source for Collierville.deanna 3
