Board OKs bed and breakfast | Collierville Independent

The Collierville Board of Mayor and Aldermen have approved a Conditional Use Permit for a bed and breakfast in a historic home at 198 Natchez Street near the Historic Town Square.

Board members unanimously approved the Stratton House Bed and Breakfast after listening to an extensive presentation that addressed everything from the size and number of events permitted at the business to parking concerns.

Indoor events will be limited to fewer than 49 people, while outdoor events will not exceed 200.

An alternative parking plan has been provided by the owners and includes an intent to offer “adequate off-site parking for events.”

“Given that the site is located in the highly-walkable downtown area with parking lots, on-street parking in certain locations and private lots that could be leased for parking,” said Jaime Groce, town planner, “ample alternatives to on-site parking exist to meet the needs of the event aspects of this request.”

Groce said that the bed and breakfast will “remain at a scale and intensity that is consistent with the overall character” of the residential neighborhood.
