Terrell Claridge Jones

1941-2022

On November 29, 2022 Terrell Claridge Jones, a faithful man who loved the Lord, his family, church and community, went to be with his heavenly father.

A  lifelong Memphian, Terrell was born April 2, 1941 to  Henry W. Jones Sr., and Dorothy Terrell Jones. He attended Memphis State Training School in his elementary years, and from there attended William R. Moore technology and Miss. State University.

He served a tour of duty for two years and was in the Cuban Blockade. After returning home, he had several small jobs, and worked at Alfred’s Clothing store for eighteen years, before eventually doing a job that included his childhood dream of handling and training dogs. After educating himself in the field of pet care, training and grooming, he decided to fulfill his dream and passion and in 2006 he built an upscale pet hotel called the Claridge Pet Resort that accommodates lodging, grooming, and a dog daycare, in Collierville, Tenn.

With a lifelong heart of service, he was part of the local community’s chamber, rotary club and other organizations. He was always thankful for his great Christian friends, teachers, family and churches, and for being able to serve as a deacon under Adrian Rogers at Bellevue Baptist Church.

He leaves his wife of many years, Mary Ann Turner Jones; daughter Mary Terrell Hyche; son-in-law Kevin; granddaughter Mary Claridge Hyche of Franklin, Tenn.; brother Henry Jones (Carol); brother-in-law Judge Chris Turner (Carol) and many nephews, nieces and cousins.

Donations can be made in his memory at  www.secondchanceforblinddogs.org, or Samaritan’s Purse, POB 3000, Boone, N.C. 28607-3000.
