Ephrem Samuel Burrows

Ephrem Samuel Burrows, 12, of Grand Blanc, MI formerly of Collierville, passed away on May 22, 2021 at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor after a sudden and unexplained illness on Tuesday morning.

Ephrem was born at home on October 31, 2008 in Collierville, TN to his loving parents Nicholas and Kate (Lambert) Burrows. He lived there with his family until moving to Grand Blanc in November of 2017. Ephrem was homeschooled. As a bright, creative, and curious child, homeschooling gave him and his family freedom to pursue his passions and wonders, and it was a joy to do so.

Ephrem loved his Savior Jesus Christ and demonstrated it daily.  With his family, he attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Grand Blanc.  Ephrem arrived to church early on Sundays and went to the Primary Room to ask the Primary President if he could help set up chairs for the Primary Service that day.  His help was welcome, appreciated, and enjoyed. Before Covid stopped the family from attending, he was also very proud to be able to help pass the Sacrament at church.

Ephrem was an active boy!  He loved to ride his bike, loved his Legos, and playing with his prized possession, a battery-powered belt-fed Nerf gun!

He was a loving and kind soul for his age.  He would travel his family’s neighborhood weekly checking in especially with the older residents to see if he could mow their lawn, clean a garage, or do anything they needed.   He had his own business cards he would hand out to them.   When he was offered money for his work he often refused it, saying “I just love helping old people!”.  .

Ephrem is survived by his parents Nick and Kate Burrows of Grand Blanc, his sisters Isabela and Greta Burrows;  his paternal grandparents William and Suzanne Burrows of Sebawing, MI, his maternal grandparents Diane (Marcos) Chavez of Nauvoo, IL  and Chriss Lambert of IL , his maternal greatgrandfather  Charles Lambert of Macomb, IL;  his aunts and uncles  Sarah Boudreau  , Tamisha Brownlee , Jade Ziegenhorn , Leigha (Adam) Knoeppel,  and Chuck (Vanessa) Burrows; and many beloved cousins.

A funeral service was held  on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints in Grand Blanc at 1PM. Cremation followed the services.
