The Town of Collierville’s Finance Department was recently awarded its 24th Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association for the 2020-2021 budget document.

Finance Director Mark Krock made a special presentation at the August 9, 2021, Board of Mayor and Alderman Meeting highlighting the work of the employees who are responsible for the document.

“The individuals who prepared the budget documents and deserve the recognition are Adam Hamric and Michele Wood,” said Krock. “The budget document is one of the Town’s most critical documents and it is commendable that their talents and efforts are recognized by receiving this award.”

Collierville’s budget document was produced by Assistant Town Administrator Adam Hamric and Budget Technician Michele Wood (pictured). During the presentation, Mark praised their work and professionalism.

“This is the 24th award received by the Town and represents a significant achievement by the Town and also reflects the commitment by the Board of Mayor and Aldermen and staff to meet the highest principles of governmental budgeting,” said Krock.

The Government Finance Officers Association sets up certain guidelines for budget documents, and in meeting those, the Town has produced a tool that serves as:• A policy document

• A financial plan

• An operations guide

• A communication device

The Government Finance Officers Association is a non-profit, professional association serving over 20,000 governmental finance professionals throughout North American and Canada.
