Collierville town employees “Pinked It Up” last week at Collierville Town Hall to show support for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Collierville is hosting this year’s 22nd annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure for the Memphis and Mid-South region on Oct. 25 at Carriage Crossing, 4674 Merchants Park Circle. Last year, the race raised $900,000 for local breast health services, breast cancer education and outreach activities and national research toward a cure, according to Mandy Powell, the local affiliate’s community and fund development manager. She said locally, the organization hopes to raise $1 million with its Race for the Cure event this year, and that the funds are needed.
