Collierville Schools will offer the following Career & Technical Education programs to students in grades 6-12 for the 2015-16 school year: Collierville High School Agriculture Education, Arts, Audio/Visual Technology & Communications (Fashion), Business Management & Administration, Education & Training, Finance (Accounting), Health Science, Human Services (Cosmetology, Nutrition), Marketing, STEM, Transportation, Distribution, & Logistics (Automotive Maintenance). Collierville and Shilling Farms Middle Schools STEM middle school courses.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING

There will be a public meeting on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 5:30pm at the Collierville Masonic Lodge #152 at 106 North Main Street, Collierville, Tennessee. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss Main Street Collierville’s intent to submit an application for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Commercial Façade Program through the U.S. Department of Economic and Community Development.

The Meeting will be held to discuss the grant opportunity, which facades will be eligible in 2015-2016, and invite suggestions for the program and the application. The goal of this year’s application is to provide funding for a new front façade to the Masonic Lodge. If successful this year, Main Street Collierville plans to apply again in future years to help improve other facades around the Square.

All Square-area businesses and property owners and the general public are invited to attend. Main Street Collierville’s does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, handicap or national origin. The meeting Place is handicap accessible.

DESIGN REVIEW COMMISSION – July 9, 2015

Notice is hereby given that the Design Review Commission for the Town of Collierville will meet in a joint worksession with the Planning Commission on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at 5:00 pm for a non-voting work session meeting in the Board Chambers at Town Hall. The non-voting work session of the Design Review Commission is informal. At that time, consideration will be given to the following:

HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR – PUBLIC SERVICES -STREETS

The Town of Collierville has an immediate opening for the following position:

Heavy Equipment Operator – Public Services -Streets

This is semi-skilled and skilled equipment operation work in which the incumbent will operate track or rubber-tired construction equipment with specialized functions related to maintenance and construction activities, including the operation of complex mechanisms requiring the highest degree of skill, dexterity, and finesse, and performing work to exacting tolerances. Operation of aforementioned equipment is the primary function of the job. Must have experience operating a backhoe, track hoe and dump truck. This position requires a high school diploma or GED, with major course emphasis in a vocation program and three (3) years’ experience involving heavy equipment operation, vehicle operation and work in area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and/or experience. Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License with Class “A” or “B” endorsements.

Salary is $28,568.00-$36,928.00 annually DOE and position is full-time.
