Home sales break 900 for year | Collierville Independent

Collierville was one of just three Shelby County municipalities that saw home sales numbers rise last month.

According to data released Monday by the Memphis Area Association of Realtors, Collierville experienced a 26-percent spike in home sales for November. Seventy eight houses were sold last month, 16 more than the same period last year.

At $280,000, the town’s median sales price was also up 2 percent in November.

With 906 homes sold so far in 2012, year-to-date sales in Collierville are up a county high 35 percent from 2011. New home sales are also up an astonishing 172 percent this year.

Bartlett home sales increased last month more than nearly every other municipality in Shelby County. The city experienced a 53-percent jump in sales for November.

Millington was the only Shelby city to best Bartlett’s improvement. With 16 sales in November, the city saw a 300-percent increase compared to last year.

Memphis-area home sales for November increased 8.5 percent from a year ago, with 1,180 total sales recorded.

While several of its municipalities experienced a decline in sales for November, overall sales in Shelby County were up 8 percent for the month.

Sales in Germantown and Arlington were down 11 and 48 percent, respectively.

At $300,000, the median sales price in Germantown was higher than any other municipality.
