Collierville football to forfeit two games after playing ineligible athlete | Collierville Independent

The Collierville High School varsity football team will have to forfeit two games of the season after inadvertently playing an ineligible athlete.

School officials self-reported the issue to the TSSAA and Principal Chip Blanchard was notified of the disciplinary actions last Thursday.

According to information submitted by the school, the student in question did not earn enough credits to be academically eligible to play football. He participated in the first two games of the season, wins over St. Benedict and Center Hill, Miss.

The school will also be fined $50 for each game in which the student participated.
