Collierville communities come together for National Night Out 2021

Collierville Police Department

National Night Out has always been about community first. This year, it meant event more to bring the community together after feeling like we have been apart for so long.

On the night of Tuesday, August 3, 2021, numerous Collierville residents turned on their porch lights and spent time outside with their neighbors as members of the Collierville Police Department, Board of Mayor and Aldermen, and Congressman David Kustoff stopped by to visit during National Night Out. Neighborhood gatherings ranged from potlucks to food trucks with plenty of yard games and kids’ activities in between.

“We’re thankful for opportunities like this for our officers to come out and meet our community and our community to see them. Community policing is at the heart of all that we do – that’s problem solving and partnership building,” said Chief Dale Lane.

Celebrating its 38th anniversary, National Night Out promotes police-community partnerships to make neighborhoods safer, better places to live. With over 38 million participants nationally, the Collierville Police Department co-sponsors the event to encourage residents to work together to prevent crime in Collierville neighborhoods. The Collierville Police Department encourages residents to always reach out if they ever encounter something that simply does not feel right by calling their non-emergency number 901-853-3207.
