Citizens Police Academy gearing up for summer

The Collierville Police Department will be hosting the 25th session of the Citizens Police Academy from June 6 through Aug. 1.

Academy sessions will be held every Monday night from 6-9 p.m. at CPD and one Saturday class on June 25 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. 

There will be no cost to participate.

The program is available to the citizens of Collierville or employees of a Collierville business. Applicants must be at least 16 years old and willing to submit to a background check. Class size is limited and applicants will be selected on a first-come, first-accepted basis.

This Academy is desig-
ned to give participants an inside look into law enforcement with the Collierville Police Department. The train-
ing will consist of a variety of law enforcement topics which will give citizens a better understanding of what members of CPD does on a daily basis. The goal of the Academy is to foster productive relationships with citizens in our community and for them to develop a better understanding of law enforcement.
