Census Art Project

The Census will be making another push during the last month of the 2020 Census Count to ensure a fair and accurate count in the 2020 Census by each household in Collierville.

It is a reminder to participate online, on paper or in person. Collierville is excited to help promote this next wave by announcing an exciting and interactive initiative to promote the importance of counting kids in the Census: a Collierville art competition!

With the help and permission of a guardian, we are asking children who live in Collierville to submit an artistic creation of their choosing that is inspired by the theme “Count All Collierville Kids in the 2020 Census.”

Parents and teachers are permitted and encouraged to assist their children with this project, though we certainly hope that parents will take some time to complete the Census first at 2020census.gov!

All children ages 0 through 18, living in Collierville, are eligible to participate in this competition. Judging by members of the Collierville Arts Council will be broken down by the following categories:

  • Art made by rising 6-year old’s and below.
  • Art made by rising 7 through 10-year old’s
  • Art made by rising 11 through 14-year old’s
  • Art made by rising 15 through 18-year old’s

Collierville will be accepting submissions through September 20, 2020, and winners will be announced on the last day of the 2020 Census – September 30th! The winning piece in each age category will receive gift cards from various Collierville businesses. THE FIRST 100 ENTRIES ARE GUARATEED A PRIZE!

Children can enter the competition by posting any artistic creation (e.g., drawing, painting, collage, craft, photo, video, etc.) inspired by the theme “Count All Collierville Kids in the 2020 Census” to Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter using the #ColliervilleCensusArt and including just their first name(s) and age. Entries can also be sent to [email protected] to be published on social media.
We hope you will encourage the children in your life to participate!
