Town works to correct utility reading issue

Town of Collierville

In mid-February, the Town started receiving calls from residents about their utility bills being higher than usual. The Utilities Division investigated possible causes of incorrect meter readings, such as software issues or broken meters. They discovered an employee was neglecting his responsibility to read utility meters and was immediately terminated; the meter readings were inaccurately recorded as zero usage per household. In those cases, residents were billed the base amount for water usage.

Currently, the Town is working to provide accurate meter readings to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Several residents affected by the incorrect readings are receiving utility bills higher than they were the past two months. In many cases, the water and sewer fees are almost double the amount than they were the previous two billing cycles.

We appreciate your patience as we work to rectify the situation.

Residents may check the status of their utility account and look at previous bills and consumption analysis here: nwesuite.colliervilletn.gov/eSuite.Utilities.

To create an account, you will only need your account number and the full name of the account (exactly as it appears on your bill). For assistance or additional information call 901-457-2240 or email [email protected].
