Three Dragon football players test positive for COVID-19

Three Collierville High School football players have tested positive for COVID-19, according to Collierville Schools Athletic Director Jeff Curtis.

The first positive test was July 14. Practice sessions were cancelled that week.

The facilities were disinfected and players who were not in close contact with the student with COVID-19 were allowed back to practice last week.

Two other students received positive results on July 22. Students were in contact with these players have been quarantined.

Curtis posted a comment on Twitter.

“Thank you to our coaches and parents for their support with our commitment to the safety and well-being of our student-athletes. During these challenging times, our coaches continue to have clear communication for our guidelines, expectations, and circumstances.”
