TCAP testing schedule set for CHS

Collierville Schools is preparing to administer the TCAP Testing for the 2020-2021 school year.

In preparation for testing, the district wants to ensure that all stakeholders are aware of the testing windows.Given the need to accommodate all students, both in-person and Collierville Virtual Academy (CVA), testing will look a little different than historically. The testing dates are as follows:In -Person Learners

• Grades 3 – 5 April 13, 2021 – April 21, 2021• Grades 6 – 8 April 12, 2021 – April 21, 2021• Grades 9 – 12 April 12, 2021 – April 21, 2021CVA Learners• Grade 3 April 13, 2021 – April 16, 2021• Grade 4 April 20, 2021 – April 23, 2021• Grade 5 April 27, 2021 – April 30, 2021• Grades 6 – 8 April 26, 2021 – April 30, 2021• Grades 9 – 12 April 12, 2021 – April 21, 2021The week of April 26 – April 30 All middle school in-person students will learn REMOTELY (this will allow for CVA middle school students to test at the school level). This will ensure that all middle school students have the opportunity to test in a socially distant environment. Please know that all students will be required to maintain social distancing and wear their mask during the testing process. In the past, students in grades 6-12 in a TCAP or EOC tested subject would have the state test count for 15 percent of their final grade in that course. For the 2020/2021 school year, this grading policy has been adjusted by the Collierville School Board to allow for the 15 percent state test to count for a student’s final grade only if that will raise the student’s final grade. If the 15 percent state test will lower or hurt the student’s final grade, the test will not be counted in their final grade calculation. If Collierville Schools does not receive its students’ state mandated test scores at least five instructional days before the end of the school year, the state mandated test scores will not be included in the Collierville Schools students’ grades in the subject areas of mathematics, language arts, science, and social studies. This policy will revert to the previous practice for the 2021/2022 school year and thereafter. Please encourage your child to participate fully and give their best effort to ensure that our district has an accurate picture of the learning that has occurred during this school year. This information is used to make instructional, educational, and intervention decisions for the upcoming school year. This will ensure that the Collierville School District provides the very best education to each of our students. Additional information regarding testing locations and times will be forthcoming from each school.
