Valedictorian

Sope Adeleye

Sope has a 5.11 grade-point average and scored a 34 on the ACT.

A St. George’s Scholar with distinction, Sope will graduate having completed 11 advanced placement classes.

She is well known for her academic achievements and was inducted into several honor societies including the Cum Laude Society and National Honor Society, and also served on the Honor Council.

She was not only chosen by her peers as the Prefect of Academics, but also served as Head Prefect, the highest student leadership position at St. George’s.

Sope also excelled in co-curricular activities as captain of the varsity volleyball team and as a dedicated volunteer with Young Life and Young Life Caupernam, which serves students and young adults with disabilities.

Admitted to many of the country’s top universities, including Dartmouth, Columbia, Penn, Emory, Stanford and Washington University in St. Louis, Sope will matriculate to Harvard University this fall to study neuroscience and play volleyball.

Sope is the daughter of Olamide and Olufemi Adeleye of Germantown.

Sydney Lanyon

Sydney has a 5.04 grade-point average and scored a perfect score of 36 on the ACT.

A St. George’s Scholar with distinction, Sydney will graduate having competed eight advanced placement classes.

Her academic achievements are well documented. She was inducted into several honor societies including the Cum Laude Society and the National Honor Society, and served as freshman and sophomore class vice president and senior class president.

In addition to her many academic achievements, Sydney was the goalie on the varsity soccer team.

When not studying or playing soccer, Sydney was dedicated to helping others as a math tutor.

Admitted to Southern Methodist University, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of Virginia, Sydney will enter the honors program at the University of Georgia this fall.

Sydney is the daughter of Teresa and Andrew Taylor of Germantown, and Ken and Carrie Lanyon of Franklin.
