Sanctuary on the Square kicks off Chamber Music Series September 11

The 2016-2017 Season for the Chamber Music Series at the Sanctuary on the Square gets underway this month with a special performance to honor the heroes of September 11.

On September 11, "Beale Canto" will present a moving tribute to the fallen and the heroes of September 11 in commemoration of the 15th anniversary of the sacrifices made on that fateful day in 2001. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the concert starts at 7. The event is free.

The choral program will feature selections including "For the Fallen" (Mike Sammes), "Prayer of the Children" (Kurt Bestor), "Our Beautiful Country" (Jennifer Higdon), and "Battle Hymn of the Republic" (Peter J. Wilhousky, arr.).

Cub Scout Pack 50 will open the concert with a presentation of the National Colors and first responders and veterans will be recognized during the performance.

Organizers want to welcome and recognize the emergency responders and military veterans of our communities at this concert. If you are an emergency responder or a Veteran, please contact Jeannie Stevens Jones at
