Safety Spotlight

Collierville Fire and Rescue has hired Joseph Spicer to the department.

Spicer brings with him over five years of experience from Shelby County Fire, Oakland Fire, and Fayette County Fire.

A native of Oakland, Tenn., Spicer said he made the move to Collierville Fire because of the training opportunities. “This department is really up to date on training, and that’s something that I really liked to see,” he said. “I also know some people who work here who’ve said this is a great atmosphere to work in.

“Outside of work, Spicer likes to spend his free time with his family; he and his wife, Holly, have two young girls ages 5 and nearly 12 months. They are active members of Fayette Baptist Church.

“Me and my dad also like to race cars, and I like to hunt and fish,” he added.

Chief of Operations Tommy Kelley said of Spicer, “We’re glad to have him here. We wish him the very best of luck and hope he has a long and successful career here in Collierville.

“Spicer added, “I’m glad to have the opportunity to work for this great fire department.”
