Retirement Rock | Collierville Independent

After spending 39 years as an educator, Tara Oaks Assistant Principal Mary Bobbitt recently announced her retirement. Nearly half of her career has been spent at Tara Oaks Elementary. Bobbitt was honored last Tuesday by staff and students, who wore her favorite color (purple) and hosted a celebration on the front lawn after school. The students performed songs and an October Glory Maple tree was planted in her honor. Pictured, former Shelby County Schools superintendent John Aitken retirementdonned an Elvis costume and performed for Bobbitt.
