Restaurant owners cite “black mold” as reason for closure

P.O. Press Public House & Provisions announced last week that the restaurant is closed due to evidence of mold.

The restaurant, located at 148 N. Main Street on the Historic Town Square, was opened last fall.

A public statement indicates that Chef Jimmy Gentry and Sommelier Chris Thorn will “relocate immediately due to the discovery of black mold and a maintenance dispute with the owner of the building at their current location.”

“After the recent discovery of black mold in the building and what the restaurant owners consider untimely action to address the black mold and other ongoing maintenance issues, Gentry and Thorn are considering pursuing legal action if the dispute is not resolved and will be closing the current location of P.O. Press Friday, September 13 at 5 p.m. Plans for relocation are being expedited, however, a new location cannot be confirmed at this time.”
