Police Car Show coming in October

Staff Report

The Collierville Police Department is proud to announce that their annual Police Car Show is set to take place on October 7. David Townsend, a member of the Collierville Police Department, will be in charge of the event, with volunteers Rick Duncan and Charlie Shaw providing their support.

The Police Car Show has been a long-standing tradition in Collierville, with the first show taking place 24 years ago. Since then, it has grown in popularity and has become a highly anticipated event for car enthusiasts in the area. At one point, the show even boasted an impressive display of 4,000 cars.

This year, the Police Car Show aims to showcase the Collierville Police Department and all that they do to keep the community safe. The event is open to all government vehicles, including tanks, cop cars, SUVs, and buses, etc.. The goal is to bring the community and law enforcement together for a fun-filled day.

The show will take place at Central Church, located at 2005 Winchester Rd. in Collierville. The event will begin at 7:30 am and will continue until 2 pm. This year’s show is a change of date event, as it was rescheduled due to another big car show in the area.

There will be a $25 entry fee for participants, with all proceeds going to the Collierville Education Foundation. The charitable foundation is an excellent way to give back to the community and support education initiatives.

The Police Car Show was initially sponsored by Bill Heard until 2008, when new sponsors came about – Landers Fort. Since then, the event has continued to grow and has become a significant fundraiser for the Collierville Education Foundation.

David Townsend, the event organizer, is excited about the upcoming show and is looking forward to seeing all of the impressive vehicles on display. Rick Duncan and Charlie Shaw, both volunteers, are committed to making this year’s show the best one yet.

The Police Car Show is an excellent opportunity for members of the community to interact with law enforcement in a positive and exciting way. It’s an event that promotes community engagement and raises money for an excellent cause.

Mark your calendars for October 7th, 2023, and come out to support the Collierville Police Department and the Collierville Education Foundation at the Police Car Show. With an array of government vehicles on display, it’s sure to be an exciting event for all.
