Miss Collierville and Miss Teen pageant set for Jan. 11 at Harrell | Collierville Independent

Working with the Collierville Arts Council and Town of Collierville, the Miss Collierville Scholarship Organization will host the Miss Collierville Scholarship Pageant on Jan. 11 at the Harrell Theatre.

Each year, the organization provides educational scholarships for area young women through the Miss Collierville Scholarship Pageant. More than $2,500 in cash scholarships and college tuition waivers are awarded to the winners of the Miss Collierville Scholarship Pageant.

In addition, all contestants are eligible to apply for a host of scholarships offered by the Miss Tennessee Scholarship Foundation Trustees Scholarship Organization and the Miss America Organization.

Contestants must be residents, students or employees in Shelby County and ages 17-24. In addition to the Miss Collierville title, Miss Collierville Outstanding Teen program is for young women between 13 years old and high school juniors. Both contests have contestants compete in interview, talent, fitness wear, evening wear and onstage questions. Winners go on to compete at the state Miss Tennessee Pageant/Miss Tennessee’s Outstanding Teen Pageant.

For further details, go to misscollierville.org or email [email protected]. The reigning Miss Collierville is Jessica Haas, who placed in the top 10 at Miss Tennessee and Chandler Booth, of Collierville, is Tennessee’s Outstanding Teen.

Another program of the Organization is the Collierville Princess Mentoring Program for young ladies 6-to-11 years of age. The Princess program offers involvement with the Miss Collierville Organization/Miss America Organization so they may learn from the young women who are role models in the community.

Each young lady will participate in four miniworkshops (two-hours each) for a positive, fun experience for each Princess. Refreshments are included. Princesses will be on stage and receive a crown during the Pageants on Jan. 11 and Coronation Ceremony at the Harrell Theatre.

Each Princess will participate on-stage in the Miss Collierville Outstanding Teen Pageant production. Applications to participate in any of these three programs are online at www.misscollierville.org.
