Lady Dragons fall to Germantown in consolation game | Collierville Independent

The Lady Dragons fell to Germantown 55-53 in overtime Saturday in the District 15-AAA Tournament consolation game. Collierville, a four seed, began the tournament on Thursday with a 30-24 win against fifth seeded Southwind. Senior Jessica Brown (above) led all scorers with 13 points in the contest. On Friday, the Lady Dragons clashed with No. 1-seed Ridgeway. The Lady Roadrunners backed their 25-1 regular season record by jumping out to a 38-17 first half lead. Despite slowing down some in the second half, Ridgeway won the game 65-35. Brown, who was named to the All-District 15-AAA Basketball Team, again paced her squad with 15 points. Kara Harbin added 13 points for the Lady Dragons. On Saturday, Collierville met a familiar foe in 15-12 Germantown. The Lady Red Devils raced to a 30-21 halftime lead. However, Collierville kept the game close in the second half thanks to a 13-2 run in the third quarter. Germantown tied the game in the fourth, forcing overtime and eventually winning the game. Brown led all players with 23 points.
