Honoring the Past

Collierville recently recognized members of the 1981 regular season football team before the opening round of the 2021 TSSAA Class 6A Football Playoffs. The 1981 Collierville High School football team, led by the late Paul Cox, finished the season with a 12-1 overall record after falling to Brentwood Academy in the state semifinals. This year’s Dragon team is 11-0 after beating Independence 44-13 in the playoffs. Collierville will host 9-2 Ravenwood this Friday at 7 p.m. The school will be honoring the 1971 football team at halftime, as they were the first regular season undefeated team and only team to play for a state championship.
