Members of the Morton Museum and interested book lovers are invited to join the Friends of the Morton Museum Book Club. Meetings will be held monthly on Tuesdays, at 2 p.m., in the Morton Museum.

The Friends of the Morton Museum is a group that supports and promotes the missions of the Collierville Morton Museum of History.  In addition to aiding the museum staff, the Friends is restarting its book club this fall.

The initial selection of books will focus on Collierville history as well as books written by contemporary Southern authors.  After the book club gets off the ground, titles will be selected by its participants.

The following selections will be read in the first quarter:

Oct 25:  Images of America:  Collierville   Arcadia Publishing  (History)

Nov. 15:  George Dawes Green’s  The Kingdoms of Savannah  (Thriller)

Jan. 24:  Wendell Berry’s  The World-Ending Fire  (Essays)

Feb.  28:  Sarah M. Broom’s The Yellow House  (Memoir)
