Enhanced Services will make using Collierville Burch Library simpler

Town of Collierville

Using the Library will be easier than ever this Spring! An improved book drop will debut in early March, featuring an Automated Materials Handler (AMH). The AMH will provide automatic item sorting and instant check-ins, so you’re ready to check out new books right away.

The installation of the AMH began Monday, March 4. Book drop services will be impacted during installation. We apologize for the inconvenience while we work to improve your Library.

New Library Catalog

The advancements don’t stop there. On March 25, the Aspen Discovery catalog will launch. Aspen will offer better-than-ever collection searching, personalized reading recommendations, and easy account management. Starting March 25, visitors to the Collierville Burch Library who click the “Catalog” link will be taken to the new site to discover what Aspen has to offer.

See an AMH in Action

How does an AMH work? Visit youtu.be/lGnFhTG-VAE to see a video that showcases an AMH automatically sorting returned items into bins. Along the way, the RFID tag in the item is scanned, and the item is automatically checked in. The Collierville Burch Library AMH will have three bins, helping to improve efficiency by dividing returned items by type.
