Dragons come back to beat Jonesboro

Though there were some tense moments in the late innings, Collierville baseball recently overcame a 3-0 fifth-inning deficit when Grant Ross and Seth Brown both connected on 2-run doubles to give the Dragons a 4-3 lead.

Grayson Saunier picked up the win on the mound.

The junior right-hander, committed to Ole Miss, went six innings allowing four hits, three runs while striking out eight.

Saunier continued his strength of commanding the zone by only allowing one walk.

The Dragons closer, Luke Whaley, was once again filthy to earn the save.

Shortstop Cade Leatherwood had two hits for the Diamond Dragons.

They went on to beat Henry County at home the next day and improved to 24-5 on the season.

They will host Covington this Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
