Crosswind names new principal

Collierville Schools announced last week that Kristie Murin has been named the new principal at Crosswind Elementary School.

She comes to Collierville from Bartlett City Schools, where she served as a school administrator for more than six years.

Murin succeeds Dr. Andre Crafford, who will retire this month after a 30-year career in education. Crafford has been the principal at Crosswind for the last five years.

Murin served as a school counselor in Georgia before relocating to Tennessee in 2006. She has worked as a counselor at Highland Oaks, Bon Lin Elementary, Southwind Middle and Bon Lin Middle schools.

She became an assistant principal at Bon Lin Middle in 2014. Murin has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, with a minor in Secondary Education from Gannon University in Erie, Pa.

She also has a Master of Arts degree in School Guidance and Counseling from Goddard College in Plainsfield, Vt. She and her husband live in Arlington. They have four children.
