Collierville’s Stamps given environmental award

Collierville Alderman John Stamps (right) was recently presented with the 2019 Tennessee River Ripple Effect Award by the Keep the Tennessee River Beautiful Board.

The goal of the first annual Tennessee River Ripple Effect award, presented by Yamaha Right Waters, is to recognize the many individuals, groups, companies and organizations that work hard to improve and protect the Tennessee River and its tributaries.

“This work often goes unsung, and we want to help celebrate the good stewards of our ‘singing river,’” said Board President Kyle Howard (left). “It’s our hope that sharing these success stories will motivate more Tennessee River Valley community members to take action for the Tennessee River, creating a ripple effect through our river communities.”

The Tennessee River Ripple Effect Awards were presented at breakfast ceremonies in three states Tennessee River stakeholders celebrated ‘Keep the Tennessee River Watershed Beautiful Month’ in October 2019.
