Collierville holds Douglass scoreless 

The Collierville Dragons put together their second winning effort of the season on Friday night by handily beating Douglass 54-0. 

It was the second consecutive week that Collierville’s defense refused to give up any points.

The Dragons (2-0) beat Raleigh-Egypt 61-0 last week but will see an uptick in the quality of opponent this Friday at White Station (1-1).

Last week, the Dragons were paced by quarterback Houston Wilhelm who completed 4-of-6 passes for 78 yards and a touchdown.

On the ground, Andy Bell and Troy Martin led the team with a combined 75 yards on just 6 attempts. They each had a touchdown in the game. 

On special teams, Harrison Craig had a 31-yard punt return for 6 points. 

On defense, Collierville had four players with 3 tackles — Daniel Rainey, Antonio Chambers, Brayden Hendricks and Terrance Choi. 

The Dragons held Douglass to -69 rushing yards and zero passing yards. White Station lost a close game 35-27 last week to Memphis Central.

The Spartans beat Melrose 17-8 in week one.
