By Graham Sweeney

Maureen Fraser

Campbell Clinic is planning to expand in Collierville and Alderman Maureen Fraser has unanimously been named vice mayor

Fraser has served in this capacity for 16 years.

The Collierville Board of Mayor and Aldermen discussed the construction of a 30,000 square-foot medical office at Poplar Ave. and Bailey Station on Monday night.

The 4.6-acre project will include a multi-use medical/office building with a 140-space parking lot.

Thirty four percent of the site will be “green space.”

• Board members voted for a Vice-Mayor to serve from Jan. 2023 to Jan. 2024. The Charter provides that the BMA “shall elect a Vice-Mayor who serves in the absence of the mayor. When a vacancy occurs in the office of the mayor, the vice-mayor shall temporarily assume the office of mayor.” Within 30 days after a vacancy occurs in the office of mayor, the Board appoints an Alderman to serve the remainder of the unexpired term. The Charter provides for an election to occur in certain circumstances.

Maureen Fraser has served as the Town’s vice-mayor since 2006.
