Betty Susan Demay 1927 – 2021

Campbell, MO ~ Betty Susan Demay, 93, of Collierville, TN, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Collierville from complications due to COVID-19.
Betty, the sixth child of Hascal W. and Cora Mae Dunivent Dement, was born December 22, 1927 in Holcomb, MO. On June 14, 1951, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Paul Donald Demay, in Campbell, MO. He preceded her in death on April 26, 2009.
Betty and Paul moved around the country for many years with his career in the automotive industry, before eventually settling in Collierville in 1981. She retired as a sales representative for Macy’s only to continue her community involvement as a member of the Powell Road Church of Christ in Collierville and a volunteer and patron of Page Robbins Adult Day Center.
Betty Demay was an independent, determined, and no-nonsense woman, yet fun-loving and beloved by her many friends and extended family, including sister-in-law, Valo Dement of Malden, MO; nieces, Peggy Mitchell of Cordova, TN, June Thompson (Larry) and Carolyn Reaves of Campbell, MO; nephews, Gary Dement of Millbrook, AL, Robert Dement of Piggott, AR, and Perry Dement of Memphis, TN; two great-nieces, Jane Mitchell Iley and Elizabethe Dement Biri; and great-nephews, Damon Thompson, Justin Reaves, and David Dement; and her very special great-great-niece and -nephew, Alexandra Hassan and Zach Hassan.
In addition to her husband and parents, Betty was preceded in death by sisters, Naomi Fuller and Violet Moore; and brothers, Clay Dement, Willard Dement, H.W. Dement and Bob Dement.
