Three days after knocking off Germantown 56-53 in the District 15-AAA championship game, the Houston Mustangs beat Central High School 74-59 in the Region 8-AAA quarterfinals Tuesday night. Down 31-30 at the half, Houston torched the Warriors 44-28 in the second half to get the win and improved to 24-8 on the season. Paced by senior and District 15-AAA Tournament MVP Marlon Hunter’s 28 points, Houston also got strong performances from Jimmy Jenkins and Ty Robinson, who each chipped in 11 points. The Mustangs were scheduled to take on Hamilton High School Wednesday night on the road in the Region 8-AAA semifinals.
